Who are the teachers?
Phyllis Bass teaches our Two’s Classes. She began teaching at Eugene’s Parent-child Preschool in 1988. Phyllis has taken classes in the Early Childhood Development program at Lane Community College.
Karen Anderson teaches our Three’s and Four’s Classes. Karen has been with us since 1987. She is a graduate of Lane Community College with an Associate of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education. She has previously taught at the LCC Childhood Development Center and the Sheldon Community Center Preschool Programs.
Phyllis and Karen are members of the Oregon Association for the Education of Young Children (OAEYC) and continue their education by attending workshops and conferences through OAEYC and the Parent-Child Preschools of Oregon. Phyllis and Karen offer a unique perspective on our preschool since they have experienced it from both the teacher and parent side. Phyllis’ two sons attended the preschool before she started teaching here. Karen’s daughter graduated from EPCP in 1995 and her son graduated in 1999.
